By Paul D. This is my own work, don't copy it as your own! I am surprised this isn't already up...it's such a simple song. In regards to effects, I would obviously suggest tremolo and light delay, and perhaps even light distortion if you feel like it. Tune down 1/2 a step The main 3 chords (played in this order) It involves barred Em and C chords. Yes, two of the same chords, but different variations. The e-minor on the last C should be 5th fret. Em: C: C: --7---------8--------5---------- --8---------8--------5---------- --9---------9--------5---------- --9---------10------5---------- --7---------10------3---------- --x---------8--------x---------- Continue the riff until the pre-chorus part "And I feel..." Then this part comes in. (time yourself with the song) Fig 1 e-------------------------------------7----------------- b-7---8---10-----7---8---10--10-------8----10------- x2 g----------------------------------------------------9-- Main piano part: This was intended for a keyboard/piano, but of course sounds great on the guitar. ;) Fig 2 e------------------------------------------------------- b--8----7----8-----10----8-----7----8----10------------ x 2 g-----7----7----7------7----7-----7----7--------------- That part changes a bit now: Fig 3 e----------------------------------------------------------------- b--10-----8-----7-----8-------10-----8-------7-----8----------- x2 g------7-----7------7-----7--------7------7--------7------7-------- However on the fourth part of the riff, this is done instead: Fig 4 e----------------------------------------10------------------------- b--10-----8-----7----8-------10-------------10-----8----------- g------7-----7-----7-----7---------7------7-------7-----7-------- Fig. 3 is only played once, it does not show up afterwards. This is one of U2's underrated songs...Hope you enjoy playing it! Comments, suggestions: paul_anthony89@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________
