Artist: SMASHING PUMPKINS!!!
Song: Untitled
Album: Not on one yet, it will be on their "Greatest Hits CD"
Written by: Billy the great
Tabbed by: Max Perenchio (Maxacaster@aol.com)

Tuning: Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb (half a step down typicall pumpkins)

Date tabbed: 1/12/01-1/16/01

Notes: If you live in the Chicago area, and listen to Q101, you have heard
this song, they have been playing it nonstop. The last single from my
favorite band in the world. It was released prior to the farewell show at the
United Center (in which i was lucky enough to attend). If you havent heard it
yet, get it off napster or something, because this is truly an awesome song.
This song uses tons of open top strings. Thats what all the "sus" chords
mean. What makes this song a little tricky, is that they change the chord
progressions on the pre-chorus each time. Enjoy :)

///VERSE 1\\\ (This is the main riff. Basically all this is are barre chords
with the top two strings left open. Then just strum the chord on the upper
strings to give it an "air-ish" type of tone. This is all a Asus chord,
then a Bsus chord, then another Asus chord, then a good old fashioned E
chord, I tried to tab out a correct strumming pattern and i think this is
pretty close to perfect.)

Theres a soft but distorted lead part that comes in when he says "To be love,

Meanwhile, a lead guitar is playing something like this when the rhythm

when he says "to be love to feel love all around...", play FIG 2

after this there is another short, soft lead part, but it gets played thruout
the song:

then when billy says (happiness, plain happines) play this:

D--7---2-

E--5---0-

Play that short lead part again (FIG 4)

///OUTRO\\\
Play FIG 1 cleanly

now...during the "feel love all around part" billy is whipping out some solos
that sound harder than they really are. Its kinda hard to tab out exactly
when you play it, but usually its directly after he says "feel love all
around.." Lots of it is hard to hear over the singing. So this isnt
100% accurate, but its pretty good.
E-----------------------14--------------------------------
B-----------------------17^^-14h17p14---------------------
G--16^-14h16p14h16-------------------16-------------------
D--------------------------------------16--14-14h16p14\13-
A---------------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------------

That should get you started, the rest is incredibly hard to hear, but most of
the notes needed to complete that part of the solo are in this scale...
F# minor scale? Im not sure what its called, but a combination of these notes
will make it sound right:
E---------------------------------------14--17----
B-------------------------------14--17------------
G-----------------------14--16--------------------
D----------------14--16---------------------------
A---------14--16----------------------------------
E--14--17-----------------------------------------

Afterwards, billy lays on a penatonic solo, which i cant even distinguish,
let alone tab.

Thats it, I hoped it helped, I have only seen one other tab for this song on
the net, and it was just chord progressions, I tabbed out as much of lead
guitar part as I could possibly do. Ive done MANY other SP tabs so be sure
check them out as well.

Please, if you have questions/comments/hate mail/angry
mail/complaints/praise... please send them all to:
Maxacaster@aol.com
Please, after dedicating so much time into it, i would like some
feedback, this one took especially long because its brand new, and no one
seems to know it yet. Once again, i hoped this helped. Its a great SP song,
so check it out.
