It's a Mistake by Men at Work off the album Cargo

Intro:

|------|------|------|-11---|-------|
|------|--9---|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|-11---|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|-11---|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
(4x) then slide down to:

|------|------|------|-9----|-------|
|------|--7---|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|-9----|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|-9----|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
(4x)
Repeat that model twice

2nd guitar part 1: (echo/chorus effect)
Play each note individually
|------|------|------|------|-11----|
|--7---|------|--9---|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|

2nd guitar part 2: After a full measure (same effect)
strum:
|------|------|------|-16---|-------|
|------|--14--|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|-16---|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|

|------|------|------|-14---|-------|
|------|--12--|------|------|-------|
|------|------|--13--|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|

Part 2 is going in sync with the 1st guitar.

Ok thats the intro, yet its incorporated in most of
the song.

Verse:

G# minor (4x)
F# minor (4x)
You can play as power chords but the barred chords
sound better.

G#min                    F#min
Jump down the shelter to get away (etc.)

Lead in to Chorus:

E                            F# major (note the switch to major)
Dont think that we dont know

E                            F# major
Dont think that were not trying

E                            F# major
Dont think we move to slow

E                            F# major
Its no use after crying,

CHORUS:(all chords 4x)

                   G#min    F#min
Saying its a mistake

              D#min   C#min
Its a mistake
               G#min      F#min
Its a mistake
              D#min    C#min
Its a mistake

basically youre playing the verse part and
adding in the d#min and c#min.
these are the models for those chords.

D#min
|------|--6---|------|------|-------|
|------|------|--7---|------|-------|
|------|------|------|--8---|-------|
|------|------|------|--8---|-------|
|------|--6---|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
C#min
|------|--4---|------|------|-------|
|------|------|--5---|------|-------|
|------|------|------|--6---|-------|
|------|------|------|--6---|-------|
|------|--4---|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|

play the d#min and slide down 2 frets its easy
Thats basically it until the ending,
which is this... After the 2nd chorus, its gonna go
into the guitar solo, which im not going to tab, but i
will give the backing guitar, which sounds great.
Its easy too. The song also ends with this progression.
This is all you need to know from here out.

Play a B power chord (after play the open E string then B string)
|------|------|---0--|------|-------|
|------|------|---0--|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|--9---|-------|
|------|------|------|--9---|-------|
|------|--7---|------|------|-------|

Then Bb

|------|------|---0--|------|-------|
|------|------|---0--|------|-------|
|------|------|------|------|-------|
|------|------|------|---8--|-------|
|------|------|------|---8--|-------|
|------|--6---|------|------|-------|

Then A, then down one fret to G#, just the top 3 strings
leaving all other strings open and playing the high E and B
strings open one at a time. The guitar solo goes over that, and
it repeats that progression for probably 8 measures, while he sings
-its a mistake- over it.

after the 8th measure,

Move down to the F# power chord, still play the open E and B
Then down to E major, play open E and B
now were slowing down to the coda, D#min, C#min, B.
The B is the last chord of the song.

Not so popular, but this is one of the best songs of the 80s.
It combines an extremely witty structure with
an infectious pop hook... like those foreigners do so damn well.

The key is correct, timing is 4/4,any questions, commments
